Every time I travel, I get health insurance,
I have only used it for silly things over the years.
One of the reasons I get insurance is because I had back surgery 7 years ago.
Now, I am in Rome, for the first time in 7 years, I have had a problem with my back.
Though I mentioned my operation when I was examined before insurance,
no one told me back problems wouldn´t be covered.
Moreover, assist card people assured me on the phone that I would be reimbursed for my
stay in Rome while healing.
Now, Assist Card just phoned me to tell me they won´t cover anything because I had a previous problem.
Something they failed to mention all along.
So, although I paid the insurance BECAUSE I had had the operation 7 years ago, and wanted to be safe,
they are no longer responsible and I find myself virtually without coverage.
Does this mean that anyone who has had any kind of problem should just stay home
because insurers won´t cover them while travelling?
These are some of the reasons you shoul NEVER GET ASSIST CARD INSURANCE,
and whatever type you get,
ask them to tell you in writing, as proof, whatever they say they will supposedly cover.
ASSIST CARD IS A TOTAL SCAM
Unless you have never been treated for anything at all, they simply will not cover you
My doctor here in Rome told me, and wrote, that I should fly to Uruguay lying down.
THAT´S WHEN ASSIST CARD STARTED TELLING ME THEY WON´T COVER,
SIMPLY BECAUSE THEY FEARED THEY WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR FIRST CLASS.
